What it costs
Credits, bought in packs. They do not renew and there is no subscription. One chat costs one credit — if an edit fails and it retries, the retries are free, because that is our problem rather than yours.

What it is good and bad at
It is reliable at the things GIMP has a real operation for: layers, selections, colour and tone, text, scaling, export settings, and answering "where did this move to in GIMP 3".
It is weakest at content-aware work — removing an object from a photograph, or replacing a sky, where the result has to be invented rather than computed. Our own tests score those around 4/10 on photographs while scoring 10/10 on flat graphics. Try those on the free chats before buying a pack.
Your images
A downscaled preview of the canvas is sent to the model so it can see what you are describing, along with your message. Nothing else leaves your machine, and generated code runs locally in your own GIMP.
Requirements
Windows, and GIMP 2.10 or later. The installer is a PowerShell script; on Linux and macOS the plug-in itself works, but you copy the folder into your GIMP plug-ins directory by hand.
