Terms of Service

Effective 19 August 2026.

What this is

GIMPBot is a plug-in for the GIMP image editor and a hosted service behind it. You describe an edit; the service asks a language model for GIMP code, and the plug-in runs that code inside your own copy of GIMP, on your own machine.

Your account

An account is an email address and a token. Keep the token private: anyone holding it can spend your credits. If you lose it or think someone else has it, email hello@gimpbot.com and we will revoke it.

Credits

Credits are prepaid and bought in packs. One chat costs one credit. If an edit fails and the assistant retries it, the retries cost nothing — a failed attempt is our problem, not yours.

Credits expire 24 months after purchase. Refunds are covered in the refund policy.

Generated code runs on your machine

This is the part worth reading twice. The service returns code, and the plug-in executes it in GIMP against your open image. It can modify or replace what you are working on. The plug-in supports undo for the last change, but that is not a backup.

Keep your own copies of work you cannot afford to lose. We are not liable for damaged, lost or overwritten images.

Acceptable use

Do not use GIMPBot to produce material that is illegal, or that sexualises minors. Do not resell access or share a token across people. Do not attempt to extract credentials from the service or submit requests designed to make it behave as something other than a GIMP assistant.

Accounts doing any of the above can be disabled without notice or refund.

Availability and warranty

The service depends on third parties and may be unavailable or slow. The assistant is a language model: it makes mistakes, and its output is not guaranteed to be correct, safe for your image, or fit for any purpose. GIMPBot is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind.

To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Payments

Purchases are processed by Polar, who act as merchant of record and are the seller for the transaction. Their terms apply to the payment itself. We never see your card details.

Ending it

You can stop using GIMPBot whenever you like, and can ask us to delete your account by emailing hello@gimpbot.com. We can suspend accounts that breach these terms.

Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be emailed to the address on your account. Continuing to use the service after a change means accepting it.

Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, United States. Nothing here removes consumer rights you have where you live.
